The STP8X is a key element of Sepura’s market-leading portfolio of Intrinsically-Safe (IS) solutions, it offers an IP67 (dustproof, waterproof and submersible) environmental protection rating, loud, clear audio, a choice of intuitive user interfaces and an extremely tactile keypad.
With a reduced keypad, the STP8X100 is targeted primarily at users who need easy, safe access to a limited number of functions, but who frequently need to use the radio with gloved hands. Worldwide, the STP8X has proven its worth in sectors as diverse as fire and rescue, oil and gas, open-cast mining, petro-chemicals, airports and the military.
The STP8X offers unrivalled levels of ruggedness and robustness. As well as the considerable benefit of it meeting the rigorous and demanding v6 of the IECEx / ATEX standards, the STP8X’s IP67 rating means that is able to withstand submersion in up to 1m of water for 30 minutes and is dustproof.
Ease of Use
In addition to a highly-tactile keypad which is designed specifically to make the STP8X easy to use with a gloved hand, it also features an enhanced user interface. This offers three different presentation styles, which users can select according to their personal preference or operational requirements. This choice of user interface helps to minimise training costs. The inclusion of Bluetooth connectivity in the STP8X enables users to connect easily and wirelessly to suitable peripheral devices and accessories.
The STP8X’s unrivalled loudness and clarity of audio, achieved through innovative hardware and software, enables users to communicate quickly and efficiently.
Many environments where IS solutions are required are also often noisy, but the STP8X and its specially-designed accessories deliver outstanding full- and half-duplex audio to help with these issues.
A range of solutions
The STP8X (Reduced Keypad) is part of an overall range of Sepura IS solutions. This includes not only two variants of radio, but also a range of audio accessories which have been specifically designed to meet the communication and operating requirements of the many sectors which make use of IS equipment.
